Fly Caledonia
The Forth bridges at dusk, Scottish engineering from the air

Construction & progress

The whole site, in one frame, every month.

Aerial progress sets for contractors, developers and civil engineering across Scotland. Shot from a fixed position so the sequence lines up and the months actually compare.

A site photograph from the ground shows a fence.

Once a development is bigger than a single plot, nothing at eye level can show it. An aerial gives you the earthworks, the phasing, the site compound and the neighbours in one image, and everyone in the meeting is looking at the same thing.

The value is in the repeat. I log the position, the height and the heading on the first visit and fly the same frame every month after it, so the set stacks into a sequence rather than a pile of unrelated photographs.

  • Same altitude, same angle, same frame, every visit
  • Monthly, quarterly, or at each milestone
  • Progress sets for the client report and the board pack
  • Marketing images of the finished scheme, same trip
  • Roofs, gutters and hard-to-reach elevations without a scaffold
  • Site records before work starts and after it finishes

How it usually runs

Set the frame once, then repeat it.

  1. 01

    The first visit

I walk the site, check the airspace and any permissions, and set the positions the sequence will be shot from.

  2. 02

    The baseline set

Full set of stills from every position, plus a wider context frame. That is what everything afterwards is compared against.

  3. 03

    Every month after

Same positions, same settings. Edited files back within a week, named so they drop straight into your reporting.

  4. 04

    The finished scheme

A final set built for marketing rather than record keeping, and a short film from the whole sequence if you want one.

Tell me where the site is, how long the programme runs and how often you want flying. Retainers are quoted per visit and get cheaper the longer the run.

Rough location and timescale is plenty to start with.
